Position Summary
The Department of Athletics, utilizing the services of over 150 employees, is responsible for the intercollegiate athletics program at San Diego State University. Currently, there are 18 sport programs, approximately 550 student-athletes, and 17 offices in the department. The offices include the following: The Aztec Club, Administration, Athletic Medicine, Business Office, Compliance, Corporate Sales, Development, Equipment, Event Management/Facilities and Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Media Relations, Strength and Conditioning, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, Ticket Office, and Video.
Under direct supervision of the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach, this position supports and enhances the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. This position provides a variety of operational administrative, technical, and analytical duties of limited to moderate complexity for the NCAA Division I Volleyball program. The incumbent has overall responsibility for the Volleyball office and the administrative duties associated with it, scheduling facilities for team practices and contests, coordinating team and coaches’ travel, order uniforms and equipment, and serve as liaison to the rest of the Athletic Department.

Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations of Division I volleyball.
Some collegiate volleyball experience as a coach and/or player.
Six months or more of office experience.
Experience in fundraising and/or program marketing and/or travel experience in an office setting.
