SUMMARY: The United States Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) seeks an Athletics Development Intern for the 2023-2024 Academic year. The Athletics Development intern will assist with donor stewardship, events and hospitality, sport-specific fundraising initiatives, data management, as well as play an important role in the daily operations of the Athletics Development Office. This is a 10-month position, beginning August 1, 2023 and ending May 31, 2024. A stipend will be offered with the option to elect medical health benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The position will perform duties including:
Assist with donor engagement and stewardship events including the Army-Navy game
Assist with Navy Football and Navy Lacrosse game-day donor hospitality events
Assist with alumni/donor communications including annual donor and parking renewals
Coordinate donor data projects working with the Ticket Office and Academy Foundation
Coordinate donor stewardship including mailings and other stewardship activities
Assist with Sport-Specific fundraising and special events
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree;
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail;
Ability to work effectively in a team setting; and
Have a strong work ethic while working in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Development or External Relations experience at the intercollegiate level or equivalent
The Naval Academy Athletic Association, founded in 1891 by Robert Means Thompson, is a 501C3 non-profit organization whose objective is to "promote, influence, and assist in financing the athletic contests of the midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy" in accordance with the policy of the Superintendent of the Academy.
Through an intercollegiate athletic program that is one of the largest in the country with 36 Varsity Sports, and a highly organized club sports program and intramural sports program, each midshipman, male and female, is afforded the opportunity to compete in athletics at a level commensurate with his or her abilities. The emphasis on physical fitness is borne out in the first line of the mission of the Naval Academy: To develop midshipmen morally, mentally and physically.
