The University of South Alabama, a NCAA Division I institution, charter member of the Sun Belt Conference and located on the Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Athletic Director, Facilities & Operations.
This leadership position is responsible for the oversight and management of all athletic facilities concerning operations, scheduling, maintenance, renovations and designated projects. This position is also responsible for the planning, oversight and execution of all athletics game/event logistics.
The position's essential job functions are:
Coordinates multiple constituencies within and around all games and events, teams, officials, media, ticketing, ushers, parking and traffic, police and security, fire and EMT, etc., which may include multiple events on single days.
Responsible for ensuring and accommodating a safe environment for all student athletes/participants, coaches, support staff and spectators, to include regular season, postseason and special competitions, and other events held yearly at athletic department facilities.
Develops and maintains departmental facilities policies and procedures manuals and visiting team guides for each athletic facility.
Creates and manages operations which lead to superior customer service and experience.
Serves as the point person for the oversight of various technology aspects related to game operations and facilities, including but not limited to officiating video replay, practice and competition video operations, audio systems, scoreboards and video boards.
Serves as the point person concerning Sun Belt Conference and NCAA post-season bid submissions and hosting responsibilities.
Supervises applicable game operations staff, including students.
Maintains a master facility calendar encompassing all venues pertaining to annual maintenance needs.
Works with all coaches, athletic department staff, and campus personnel to schedule and allocate facilities time usage for all athletics teams.
Maintains a game/event master calendar with the intent to avoid conflicts in scheduling; determines availability and manages the scheduling and use by third party groups of athletics facilities (outside rentals).
Creates, monitors, and manages various facilities and games operations budgets.
Serves as the department lead on summer camps/sport clinics scheduling and acts as campus liaison for the athletic department in those areas.
Attends and works events which will include nights and weekends; regular and prompt attendance.
Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
Ensures compliance with all applicable NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and University rules and regulations.
Prompt and regular attendance required.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Ability to travel with teams as necessary.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate AD/Internal Operations and/or Director of Athletics.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama. Minimum of three years of experience in a related field in a collegiate or professional sports setting. A master's degree may substitute for one year of the required experience.
