The Assistant Director of Championships Social Media is responsible for creating innovative and enthusiastic content for NCAA championship social media accounts. This role will play a crucial part in developing and executing social media strategies to promote NCAA championships across multiple platforms, engaging fans and showcasing the excitement of college athletics.
Job Responsibilities
Create and manage the strategy and content for NCAA championship social media accounts, focusing on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms, with an emphasis on:
Student-athlete storytelling
Championship event social strategy development and execution
Driving season-long fan engagement with key digital and social platforms
Growing the NCAA brand and public perception
Assisting with revenue-generating opportunities
Additional sport-specific social media community management assignments TBD.
Create captivating multimedia content for social platforms, including engaging graphics, videos, photography, immersive audio, and written narratives that bring NCAA championships to life.
Immerse yourself in diverse sport communities, becoming a passionate advocate and trusted voice to drive stakeholder goals and enhance fan experiences.
Take the helm as the public voice for multiple high-profile NCAA social media accounts, exercising editorial judgment to maintain the organization’s reputation through thoughtful, timely posts.
Oversee the prestigious NCAA Photos partnership with Clarkson Creative:
Orchestrate professional photography coverage for all 90 NCAA Championships
Craft shot lists that capture the essence and excitement of each event
Efficiently manage and fulfill photo requests from NCAA Championship staff and member institutions
Collaborate closely with TNT Sports (Warner Brothers Discovery) to optimize the NCAA’s digital rights partnership, creating a seamless and engaging content ecosystem across all platforms that amplifies the NCAA brand.
Leverage advanced analytics to monitor and interpret social platform metrics, using data-driven insights to continuously refine and improve our social media strategies.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource and educator for NCAA membership and national office stakeholders, keeping them informed on social media trends, best practices, and performance metrics.
Act as a liaison across NCAA Championships, ensuring consistent, high-quality content across all NCAA social platforms while maintaining brand integrity.
Navigate Association policies and guidelines, balancing NCAA brand protection with partner support to drive mutual success and growth.

Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Three to five years digital and/or social media experience.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Experience in sports, entertainment, or related industries (preferred).
Experience in committee and project team decision-making process (preferred).
Estimated Travel Required <20%
This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
